To commemorate Windrush Day 2020, DJ Flight (Natalie Wright, my sister) produced and narrated a 12-part podcast series spotlighting 12 wonderfully inspiring people who contributed to the reconstruction of the UK 72 years ago. Featured interviewees include; · Professor Benjamin Zephaniah (Poet, Activist & Lecturer) · Blacker Dread (Coxsone Sound System, Music Producer + Co-Founder of Brixton Splash) · Marjorie H. Morgan (Writer, Playwright + Journalist) · Jamz Supernova (Broadcaster + DJ - BBC Radio 1Xtra) · Nadine White (Journalist for HuffPost, previously The Voice Newspaper) · Lloyd Bradley (Author, Expert in Black Music & Culture + Author of "Bass Culture") · Brendon Batson OBE (Former Footballer for Arsenal, Cambridge Utd + West Bromwich Albion) · Matthew Phillip (Notting Hill Carnival) · Cecil Wright (Cricketer) · Sister Ina Spence (Senior Midwife) · Mr Wright (My Father and OG) · Dr Vanley Burke ("The Godfather of Black British Photography") This project was created by and for Prison Radio Association, who aim to contribute to a reduction in reoffending using the power of radio.
