Process of a painting by Charlie J

  • Charlie Jenkins

This is a painting process of a dearest family member and a very wonderful and powerful woman. The painting will be given to another family member who had the heart to look after her for a long time. To begin with, I quickly sketched in a rough outline, so I could paint the background a floral blue and red, then applying small colour to show what is going where. I started with the face as I wanted to nail it, also adding block colour to the trousers. I then realised that the face was completely wrong, so I started again and I am extremely happy with the results! With the face and hands all done, I then moved on the shirt, which is pretty basic, which is due to me wanting to put a focus point on the face and "hat" Which I believe I achieved. When I was happy with the outcome I moved on to the details and hat. So far I am pleased with the outcome! I have now finished, enjoy :) Medium used- Acrylic on canvas Canvas size-76cmx50cm Stay Safe. Rest In Peace.
