Project Space Festival Juárez 2023

Rebrand for Project Space Festival Juárez, literally sitting on the border. "We will focus on Ciudad Juárez and its central issue: human exploitation. The exploitation of underpaid people in the assembly lines; the exploitation of missing people; the exploitation of restriction of movement. Because people in the Global South are considered less valuable, missing people is not an emergency. This provides fertile ground for people to suffer unspeakable acts of cruelty and to be exploited to death. Additionally, border restrictions that Global South people face violate their right to seek for a better life. Restrictions devalue their status as human beings and make it acceptable to treat them no better than animals. These all constitute contemporary forms of slavery." — Gabriela Duran Barraza, director of PSFJ23
