Publication Design - Above Sea Level

This publication design is for Richard Smith’s anthology, Above Sea Level. I used his words and explanation for this anthology to create this publication. Another influence I had, was the target audience I chose who would be literature students or poem lovers. The front cover of the publication was screen printed. The transparency is influenced by the title of the anthology (exploring the water and it’s form) and from the double meaning the writer stated the anthology has. This is how it would be presented to the user and for display. After the user or buyer acquires it, they can arrange it anyhow they please but this is how they would see the publication for the first time. This freedom would give the user the creative room to arrange it later how they personally interpret the anthology. The blue rectangular image of the text 'Above Sea Level ' can be scanned using Artivive. This design was created using Adobe AfterEffects.
