Through Purity Shines we dissect pleasure as the search of being. How we experience the feeling of pleasure daily, whether it is when we eat, touch, or the image of someone’s clothes blowing in the wind. Hedonism is used as a façade against our fear of death. We seek pleasure to make life bearable, to create meaning while simultaneously being “eaten” by the feeling of emptiness. This project is a constant examination of our surroundings, were we add more questions in every step than answers, feeling lost most of the time. It arrives to the point where we don’t know what is right or wrong, fiction or reality, what is white and what is colour. Our only way out is dwelling into mythologies, because doubting the myths is to learn the secret of the origin of things. If you’re looking for answers we advise you to submerge into the discovery of self with us. “White can be seen as the basic form of life or information that emerges from chaos. Life radiates colour, while the innate tendency of white is to escape colour, to reach the opposite side of chaos. Life comes to this world wearing white, but it begins to acquire colour the instant it consumes concrete form and touches the earth. In the real world, white is always contaminated and impure. White is delicate and fragile. From the moment of its birth it is no longer perfectly white, and when we touch it, we pollute it further, though we may not realise it. It is difficult to sustain the purity of white because it is so easily contaminated; its beauty strikes us with such power because of our painful awareness of its transience.”
