queens of the scene (2019)

The photography project 'queens of the scene' by Swiss photographer Tatjana Rüegsegger shows Zurich drag queens from another, unknown point of view. Unpainted and natural, they are presented in their preparatory phase. Away from red lips, colored eyeshadow and provocative outfits Tatjana Rüegsegger grabs the drag queens on plain, expressive black and white photographs. The abstinence of color in the photographs allows an intimate insight into the persons and allows the viewer an exchange at eye level - without a stage nor high heels.
