Ray Glider and the Shadow Wolf

  • George R. Powell

What began as an original character created as an excuse to get back into illustrating and start putting animation study to practice, Ray Glider himself has become something of a pet project. "Ray Glider and the Shadow Wolf" begins the origin story of sugar-glider thief, Ray Glider, as his fall from grace as a career thief leads to his adventure-laden path of putting his skills to use for Good: as a spy for a secret government spy ring led by the wealthy eccentric owl, Dr. Noctum. The year is 1947, and after a botched heist, Ray Glider's employer and lover, Veronica Gooselheim, left him behind to be fall guy. When being summoned from his prison cell by Noctum, he is offered the chance to do some good with his skill set. What is even more pressing is that some of the intelligence they received, concerning an ongoing investigation of the elusive criminal "shadow wolf", curiously mentions the name "Jake Glider" - Ray's long lost brother. At the time of this posting, the story and world-building is still on-going, though I have made some artwork and a proof-of-concept start of a graphic novel to give an idea of the style and aesthetic, though I've been open about a medium for the story (film, series, game, etc.).
