An exploration into fear and clothing, Reasons To Be Fearful looks at how clothing and textiles have been historically used to both induce and combat anxiety. Drawing inspiration from everything from headmasters cloaks to amish quilts, the collection aims to showcase how clothing can impact our mood, and how textiles and craft can be used to help our mental health in these uncertain times- all while using sustainable materials. This Project showcases Look 1- a latex coat created by cutting damaged/ offcut latex scraps using a zund machine to produce small pieces which were then glued onto hand dyed panels before the final coat was assembled. Paired with trousers made from 100% British wool. Type design by Finley Henson.
