Oríkì for our Daughters of the New Age “Oríkì for our Daughters of the New Age” celebrates choosing to centre communal care as a radical act in an increasingly isolating and divisive world. Oríkì is praise poetry used by the Yoruba to speak to the divine within us. It is a deep spiritual expression of the virtues of who we are - and most importantly - who we can become, calling to the power of our past, presents and futures. This series is in praise of kinship and solidarity with other women of colour, and the futures we build in reconnection with ourselves and nature. Daughters of the New Age follows a journey of intimacy and isolation as we forge our individual paths together to dance into our new age.
