RETOLD STORIES is inspired by African contemporary art, and in particular by the three artists: Romuald Hazoumè, Gerard Quenum and Dilomprizulike. The collection is a tribute to materiality of a brutal matter, which in voodoo culture is the reign of spirits and silence, in contrast with raw vitality and theatricality of a human body. Every piece has a strong
and austere character, as a real mask to wear. Like modern juju spirits, they appear in severe frontality, symmetry and simplicity.
