Ρέβ (Rêve/Dream) is a day within a life, re-lived through fragmented memories. Loneliness, abandonment and regret are prevailing themes within cycles of reflection and contradiction. A short documentary examining the consequence of time within the fragility of memory, exposing a sense of self, trapped within materiality and fantasy. - a film by Nikolas Kasinos cinematography by Jeremy Carne

Growing up, my grandmother was an intriguing yet somewhat problematic character. My memories of her were conflicted so I decided to make a documentary where I observe how she sees and reflects on herself and her reality.

Through her story I wanted to create a parallel with how it is to age in our society and how seniors are somewhat abandoned; with memories as their closest companion. The physical home, becomes an extension of the self, integrated with identity; particularly for this generation.

During the process I realised that it was not important to hold onto the image I had of her and let her tell her story as she wanted, because this was her truth.
