Rhouba Mhaissen - Rafto Prize Recipient 2019

Rhouba Mhaissen works tirelessly to help refugees who have fled Syria and are now stuck in refugee camps in Lebanon, a challenge that has only gotten harder as Lebanon has itself experienced it's own disasters in recent years. Rhouba was adamant that she didn't want a film to have too much focus on her, so we wanted to focus on the experience of being a refugee, using her voice and trying to also refugees are just people, with hopes and aspirations the same as anyone else.
