Project for RICHARD QUIN based on our dreams, and the power of mind-travelling on a time when we are craving for globe-trotting. My goal is to make visual what is intangible, imperceptible, abstract. To understand the mechanism of our inner world, specifically my own. During history, humans have seen dreams as mystical or as some window into our deeper selves. But they're constructed entirely from our memories, from the world we see when we are awake. During our REM sleep the brain creates dreams that are not designed to settle on a single answer, but to help us realise all the possible answers out there. That's the goal of the piece, to get things we have already seen (jacket, t-shirt) and twist them in a completely new way. If you would have never been told how a shirt should be dressed, how would you wear it? That's what dreams do, perceive the multiple and alternative realities without the barrier of sanity. And what I'm trying to materialise.
