Rolling PR @ Ochoymedio Club

  • Rocío Sánchez
I managed a Public Relations position for Ochoymedio Club. Started at 18 years old –Spanish legal age to attend to Clubs– in 2012, I've been developing and growing my own client list until 2018 when I finished working for the Club. This has been my personal project and my long-term job. Even though it is supposed to be a temporary position.
Ochoymedio Club is one of the most outstading music clubs in Madrid. It does not only bring indie, rock and pop music to the Madrilenian nights at Malasaña, but also organised music events and concerts, being one of the pioneers in the indie music scene.
During the past 6 years I've learn about communication and marketing myself and also applied everything I've learn from my music career. Through WhatsApp app I created a suscription system for my clients, which also could contact with me directly and give feedback. As a newsletter sort of weekly and monthly sents, I provided them information about the Club's nights and concert programs, editing personalized flyers I sent online to the clients. And I did everything just in my free time!
Using social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Spotify –creating an enormous playlist with all the songs played at the Club–, I reached new audiences. Also, I contacted and add new clients by approaching them at the Club itself. Within the years, Rolling, which was the name I used as PR, became the most used client list for the Club. Also, I've been one of the most long-lasting PRs working for Ochoymedio Club ever.
Ochoymedio Club was the first club I've ever been in, and I'm happy to have spent part of my youth and growing as a professional in there.
