This project is about hair. "Hair is a part of our body. It holds our DNA. Some say it has the power to hold memories. The way we spend time caring for it, on our own heads or on the heads of those close to us feels intrinsically intimate. It reflects our culture. It’s a signifier of our heritage. A connector of community. A platform for self expression. A representation of our identity. I’ve always had a strong emotional attachment to my own hair and I want to understand why. What is it about my hair that I feel so connected to? Do other people feel the same way? What does your hair make you feel?" These are pages from a magazine I created earlier this year for my graduate project inspired by my family, community and self. All art direction, styling, editing and most photography by me :) Link to full project: https://ualshowcase.arts.ac.uk/@oderaphilebosie Featuring Models - Ademini, Liliana, Teo, Anna, Siobhan, Blake and Toni Makeup - Mary Ogunsanwo Photography - Kaddy Jatta Braided pieces - @miss.slimeball on ig
