RSA DIGNITY IN DISPLACEMENT

  • Charlotte Knapp

How might we support displaced individuals to find hope, dignity and safety to rebuild their lives? Refugees: a person who has received legal permission to permanently live in another country due to conflict, war or the threat of persecution in their country of origin. How can I make a change?

This idea came from the problems that the children of the refugee camp face regarding education, the first issue is the lack of space that they have. Therefore, building a school is out of the question and they the space problem is then followed by the Childrens safety and their fears of going outside. From my research and the insights I have found, children don’t like going outside as they are scared of being taken, robbed, raped, adults shouting, the outside living conditions as well as the Bangladesh army.
The following images to picked the outcomes from this project that I believe would benefit to this campaign.
This was the main outcome from the entire project, the idea is to give children the opportunity to learn and develop well in a safe area.
I created a Bag for Life, I want to create something different therefore I decided to create the bag that will look nice and professional, I then had the idea to offer the bag in different colours and variations, as this was often found during my research that charities often supplied a bag for life that was in different colours and variations.
Pins and Badges are a light weight, and inexpensive item that for the people who wear them generate awareness and adverting for the charity as they wear them and walk about.
The leaflet is a way to show the importance for the cause I am supporting. I changed the simple shape of the original leaflet to a heart shape, I thought that it would be a good connotation of the ‘giving’ and the ‘donating’ action for the public.
Billboards and posters are an excellent form of advertisement. I have made three different style mock-ups that illustrates how differently they can be effective.
Most of the websites that I have found all sell products, these products are designed for you to donate money while receiving an object that then has an added peruse that advertises the campaign to others and also creating an awareness of the matter as well.
