Sa Bhaile - Young Visual Artists Exhibition, 2019, The Barbican Centre

  • Nia Thomas

Applied and selected as one of thirteen Young Visual Artists for the collective at The Barbican Centre. With the freedom to explore any topic I decided to focus on the house my mum grew up in. 'Sa Bhaile' is the title given to the photography book exploring the house's relationship with the landscape, the people and myself. Here are a number of pages from the publication which was exhibited at 'Concrete Salon' at the Barbican, April 2019. The piece was later exhibited at The Barbican 'New Suns: A Feminist Literary Festival’.
