Samsung SmartThings Halloween House Transformation
Since the majority of us stayed at home this Halloween, the latest Samsung SmartThings brand activation aimed to show how we could use technology to have creepy Halloween fun.
Commissioned by Taylor Herring, we took over a 300 year old house in Stevenage and transformed it into something quite spooktacular. Using a combination of video projection mapping by Shared Space and Light and a giant skeleton puppet surrounded by rotating carved pumpkins, we had all the makings of a haunted Halloween house. Top this, with a dance troupe of UV skeletons and anyone wandering past was in for quite a fright.
The activation was a brilliant success. The Samsung SmartThings video received media coverage on most of the big national news websites, in various industry reviews like PR Weekly, Campaign Live, TechRadar and AdWeek as well as entertainment and lifestyle magazines. The video was also shared by many social media influencers and has had over 800K views.
Random fact. As The Old Bury did not have a garage, which we needed for the UV skeleton dancers to emerge from, we fabricated a fake one for the purposes of the video.
