Santana is old American rocker. I have inspired him to link more about western culture. It is a commercial design because I created this poster to promote Santana’s “Maria” song.
I have taken pictures of electric guitar to see its structure better, then used guitar structure on the background of the poster to relevant Santana’s music style. Additionally, I put amplifier in graphical style from my photos. I guess it represents the rock style well.
The typeface that I used on the poster is from my previous constructivism project. It seems powerful and aggressive, therefore, I believe it fits well to rest of this poster.
After I created “Maria” poster, I designed two more different Santana’s album covers to make this project more variance. I used my own silhouette photos to create negative spaces and other shapes to be unique on this project.
