SAVE THE CHILDREN

BRAND COMMUNICATIONS, EVENT DESIGN, ANIMATION Save the Children were looking for something a little different for their Centenary Gala, being held at the Roundhouse, Camden. Based on Lisa's previous animation work for Robbie Williams, U2 and Elton John, she was invited by Creative Director Anthony Biggs to collaborate on the look and feel for the event as well as direct the screen layouts and animated content. To represent the bold actions of their Founder Eglantine Jebb, and to give a flavour of the revolutionary creativity of the early 20th century, we proposed a raw punk aesthetic - using black red and white as the colour palette, and graffiti style fonts and graphics. To immerse the audience in the sights and sounds of Eglantine Jebb's world, and to optimise the shape of the roundhouse, we surrounded the audience with 11 huge monolithic screens and used them to enhance the live performances by Joely Richardson, Helena Bonham-Carter, Sue Perkins and Emile Sandé. We delivered 3 pieces of animation to play across the screens, which cued live to music. Save The Children had one of their most successful fundraising events ever, raising over 1million pounds!
