School Book on Religious Subject

  • Katarina Fajgelj
I’m into religious art. That’s what I got my BA for. This time I was hired locally to design and illustrate a school-book for senior grade Secondary school, on religious subject.
I was so excited about this project, finally I got to work with what I was educated for, and for my favourite target group-kids! And to make it even better I’ve gotten complete control over the creative process, design and illustration.
After around two-months of work we’ve got a >100 pages A5 book, with around 30 lessons, each illustrated or graphically supported.
I designed it to make a subject that is so entangled with tradition exciting and contemporary. I fused text-books and magazine to entice teenagers to dive into this rich subject. There are tasks included in the text, and I added interactive graphics, that invite students to color medieval Church ornaments or draw their Apostle.
The book is in the Serbian Cyrillic alphabet.
