Sciences Po European Heritage Prize

  • Mia Stern

During my masters’ studies I participated in a competition for the elaboration of a european cultural project for sustainability. My group’s project “Res’eau” won the jury’s prize. It aimed at creating a european network to connect various heritage sites connected to water to promote sustainable renovation methods on a europe- an level, and to connect these sites with projects on a local level, in order to ensure their use in the long-term. The objective was to reinvent our approach to renovated heritage sites and to water, as places that need to keep living, act as “laboratories of co-cre- ation” rather than museumified and resource-draining attractions. We chose a lighthouse in Denmark, an abandoned casino in Ro- mania and an abandoned waterpark in the Netherlands as our pilot projects. To pitch our project, I created a 1’30 animation that illustrates our concept and shows the three initial projects. Each frame is hand drawn.
