Matthew Hague’s Scir Burna is a visual exploration of a route through the City of Coventry walking the line of the culverted River Sherbourne.
Through this body of work Hague aims to uncover how the city has encroached on the natural environment within and surrounding its suburban sprawl, disrupting this historic Midlands waterway. Devoid of all human presence, these images invite consideration and at the same time constitute a portrait of man’s impact on nature.
