During my second year at university I focused my practice on screen printing and developing dischargeable acid pastes to print elaborate and expressive botanical forms. Starting with an intensive 3 weeks of drawing I developed my style of drawing sunflowers and seed pods with stick and Indian inks, as well as using graphite, pencils and black fine liners. Within the print room I experimented and developed acid dye paste recipes to hand dye and screen print silk fabric samples. The final outcome of this project was a dyed and screen printed 2m length of silk satin which showcases a repeated floral design.
