My publication, Screwball, is a publication for the weird, wonderful, and slightly scary. Empowering fears through fashion-forward images, Screwball employs conceptual styling and photography with a kitsch finish to delight in unexpected ways. Issue one is focused on the fear of clowns, coulrophobia, and exploring why people are so scared of them. Researching different types of clowns, from the traditional ‘joker’, the Auguste slapstick clown, to pantomime dames, I portrayed clowns and the fear of them through photography, styling, and editing in hope to bring the weird, wonderful and slightly scary to light.
