Securing Sports 2014

  • Thomas Ludewig
Securing Sport is an international platform that convenes the world’s leading decision- and policy-makers who are committed to taking action to safeguard sport. Hosted annually by the ICSS in different global capitals – London (2014) – this high-level global conference addresses current issues which impact the safety, security, integrity and legacy of sport.

Participants include leaders in government, international organisations, sports federations and the private sector who are key stakeholders in the governance, stewardship and protection of sport, and who recognise the critical role of sports in worldwide social and economic development and as an instrument to positively influence the geopolitical stage.

Securing Sport addresses wide-ranging challenges to sport – for example, the role of organised crime in sport betting and match fixing, legalised gambling, athlete abuse, cyber-threats, stadia safety and security, financial integrity, human trafficking by unauthorised sports agents, and many other emerging issues, including the protection of vulnerable women and children.
