Self Negotiated Brief (final year of degree) "The Post COVID home"

  • Emma Graham

Throughout this project I developed a range of textile prints for a luxury home decoration collection "Tranquility" for the high-end homeware market. I produced a functional and decorative collection of home decoration products that uplift home spaces and improve the customers wellbeing when implemented in their homes through design. My prints were inspired by biophilic design incorporating floral elements in particular orchids and lilies due to their soothing qualities and the joy they bring when gifted to one another. As well as this my designs were strongly influenced by anxiety relieving colour palette trends due to their power of calming the mind, managing stress levels, and lowering blood pressure.

Three abstract fabric designs part of the "Tranquility" collection. Digitally printed on silk viscose satin.
Bespoke made to measure wallpaper design part of the "Tranquility" collection.
Reverse side of my "Tranquility" cushions digitally printed on cotton drill with gun metal grey piping. The shape of my cushion inspired by my abstracted floral motifs within the print design.
Digital print design produced using procreate and illustrator. Using layers of abstracted lily and orchid motifs.
