SELFIE by Ken Kagami

SELFIE is series of self-portraits by Ken Kagami, designed by HATO. The artist’s first photo book; a weird, wild trip into his brain and his studio bathroom. It was a pleasure to work on this with HATO's very talented team – cc: Kenjiro Kirton, FIBI KUNG, Tilia Bertrand-Shelton, Kurt Champion, and Hannah Claydon, plus invaluable translation and editing by Marigold Warner. Even more so to catch people taking their own selfies in its high-shine cover in bookshops, often unawares. I've been collaborating closely with artists to publish their work online and in magazines for more than ten years now. Making books instead is a thrill – I'm looking forward to many more.
