SET STYLING FOR MARNI PFW DEBUT IN KARL LAGERFELD'S FORMER HOME - Adalene Çevik

As a stylist immersed in the debut of Marni at Paris Fashion Week, set in the opulent former residence of Karl Lagerfeld, the experience was an enchanting journey through the senses of the city. Francesco Risso's Spring/Summer 2024 collection unfolded like a visual poem, questioning the essence of Paris with a poetic narrative that echoed through each meticulously styled ensemble. The venue, located on 51 rue de l'université, Karl Lagerfeld's former home, provided a luxurious backdrop adorned with chandeliers, rustic mirrors, and a dreamy backyard plaza. As actors, musicians, and creative talents including Erykah Badu, Usher, Quavo, and Issa Rae graced the global gathering, my role as a stylist involved curating looks that seamlessly blended Marni's whimsical collection with the grandeur of the venue. Classic striped jackets, mini capes, checkered pant suits, and A-frame sleeveless shirts over wide-leg trousers created a visual symphony, while billowing cotton skirts paired with vibrant knit tights added a touch of romance. The metallic petal dresses, a standout in the collection, were elevated by handcrafted chrome accessories, and pointed-toe flats reigned supreme in the realm of footwear. It was an honor to navigate every crevice of Lagerfeld's former home, orchestrating the models' path through rooms and around the back terrace, transforming the space into a living canvas that echoed Risso's poetic vision of Paris, la ville baroque. - Adalene Çevik
