I was just reflecting on the level of innovation that took place during Covid lockdown. In my previous role as program manager for young migrants in care. I co-produced a new online youth hub with a ex care leaver. We started with online mentoring - commissioning Hope for the Young to provide 1-1 support for the most vulnerable young people in our society at the time. We were the first local authority to get in touch. By the time we went back to face-to-face work, we had a full-blown multi-agency hub for asylum seeking young people. https://lnkd.in/ebRcgRCE . I guest lectured at Kings college on their international MA Course. I mentioned the hub briefly, and after the lecture, I was overwhelmed by the amount of charity support- especially from Breadwinners who offered voluntary experience to young people and so much more. Incredible work in the most difficult times. what still stands today, is the power of working in partnership, and putting the needs of young people first.
