SHELTER COFFEE

Initially this project served as an exploration into ambiguous signage. In other words signage that can adapt or change based on things outside our control, with the intent on creating diverse and unique interactions with our environments. Our lives can be considered a product of our environment, and can often become repetitive or predictable. However with the introduction of ambiguous way finding we as designers can create an intervention into individuals daily habits. In this case the signage adapts based on whether it is raining or not. When it is, the hydrophobic sign repels water leaving the concrete on that part dry and therefore the sign visible. However after exploring alternate outcomes the signage was not used, but I decided to return to the project and expand on the logo and created potential coffee pack, can, and menu designs to create a typography based brand identity.
