With conscious craftsmanship at the forefront of my design process, I wanted to utilise my graduate collection to respond to social issues in my local area through innovative sustainable textiles. I did this by patch working the identity and sense of community, that has been lost from the area due to gentrification, back together combining hundreds of second-hand woollen garments I had re-claimed, felted and deconstructed. This allows my garments to be one of a kind and injected with soul, that being diminished from many parts of London as well as in fashion with the fast-moving, wasteful nature of 2020.
