SIGNAL

The idea for this project  came from a recent travel to Panama during the wet season. I was surfing almost everyday and often felt ill after a session, many surfer friends had to visit the hospital regularly because of ear and eye infections. I quickly came to realise it was because of the heavy rainfalls, which brought huge amounts of polluted water from the land to the coast. An understanding that made me feel extremely angry and motivated to seek a potential solution. That is when SIGNAL - a surfing wax that changes colour by reacting with pollutants in the water - came to mind. An idea I am hoping to test and further develop in the future.  ​ ​
