Immense gratitude and faith forever. Following my recent post about seeking a typist for my major writing project I’m embarking on, I’d liked to give you all an update. I needed to find the most appropriate fit for this particular project, and wow, I have been very fortunate in that several great candidates applied in this case. Thank you to all those who applied for the role and those who sent well wishes to me. In particular, I’d like to send a massive thank you to June Sarpong, Mel Exon, and Elizabeth + Yomi (of Slay In Your Lane), you know why.
I have now selected a typist to work with me on this project. She sent an enthralling, thoughtful, and thorough application, which highlights she is clearly a very articulate and emotionally intelligent “womxn” with deeply relevant life experience.
I sincerely appreciate that she really read the job spec and gave an amazingly detailed and very personal response.
So, it is my absolute pleasure to introduce you to Emma (photo above), who has accepted the role to support me on my project.
Reading through her application, I could tell she takes the initiative and stays open-minded. Her diverse background and experience suggest she is hard-working, like-minded, adaptive and creative; and I was particularly impressed by her knowledge of the social model of disability. I can completely relate, as I have many similarities to her story.
And last Friday (14th June) we had our first session. Wow. We connected so much. She’s more impressive in person! We had a positive, productive, and powerful first session.
Thank you, Emma. Though a disclaimer: You’re stuck with me for the long haul. Haha. BUT I’m excited to see where this adventure leads us, and I’m so humbled to share this with you!
As Rumi best said: “Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames.”
Let’s go and wish us luck!
