Skate LDN

Series documenting London’s skating community London’s skate scene boomed in lock-down where social isolation and societal rules created the perfect storm for an outdoor sport affording freedom, inclusivity, physical expression and camaraderie. I have been photographing the skate community since 2020. I have great appreciation for the physicality the sport demands - the smooth shifting shapes and speed at which they are delivered. The group choreographed jam routines are compelling - a testament to shared passion, dedication and skill. There’s a strong sense of acceptance, freedom and kinship; it’s inspiring to experience and capture - which I strive to do in a candid, collaborative and unobtrusive manner.
