At MLB we’re often asked to find that missing ingredient, the thing that takes a brand, or a website or an environment from “nice” to “WOW”. The futuristic, otherworldly and intimate “East Bar” at sketch was seeking another element of je ne sais quoi. We filled the central sunken bar with hundreds of coloured pencils referencing not only the monochrome illustration on the ceiling (not unlike a colouring in book) but more specifically a mixologist’s palette of delicious ingredients. The pencils are reflected in the colouring of the bottles that this installation was inspired by. Like with every good cocktail… it’s all in the detail
