At the beginning of my university journey I’d always known that I wanted to contribute to the upsurge of black culture and spread awareness of the everyday experiences of black people as the integral aim of my graduate project. It was vital that the most significant piece of work, the final project that defined who I am as a fashion communication student, would be based on uplifting black women and shedding light and educating both majority and minority groups on matters affecting the black community. This is the foundation on which my final project is built on. This graduate project allowed me to listen and learn from the strong voices of our black women today. As you will soon see in the collection of videos when the website drops as well as the zine, a group of black queens came together and allowed their stories, thoughts and experiences to be shared and heard. Because when we come together, we become the most powerful force. Thank you for your wisdom and strength
