With her Spanish/Iraqi background and West London upbringing, Yaz's music is influenced by her heritage, community, and personal storytelling. Dele Sosimi, a Nigerian-British musician, songwriter, and bandleader, promotes the essence of afrobeat, a genre pioneered by mentor, Fela Kuti, by blending it with jazz, funk, and traditional Nigerian music. Medlar, known for his unique blend of techno, disco, and house music, has a successful career with releases on labels like 'For Discos Only' and 'Delusions of Grandeur'.
