Sound Healing uses sound, music and specialist instruments played in therapeutic ways, combined with deep self-reflection techniques to improve health and wellbeing. Most sound healing sessions make use of Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, gongs, monochord, tuning forks, crystal pyramids and drum. Vocal techniques include toning (the singing of one tone – usually using a vowel sound) and overtoning (a technique where more than one tone is sung simultaneously). Sound healing sessions can be passive (no action from the customer/patient, e.g. sound baths) or active (customer/patient actively participating in making music/sound production, drumming/singing sessions). Active and passive sound healing sessions aim to support relaxation, mindfulness and stress relief.
