Soundtrack Artwork - Graphic Design

  • Stefan Vallance

This next project is a visual exploration of the Wip3Out Fusion soundtrack. Released in 2002 along with the videogame of the same name, the full playlist featured a collection of leading names in acid, electronica and breakbeat across the UK and Europe, including: Luke Slater, Future Sound of London (FSOL), Cut La Roc, Utah Saints and Timo Maas.

The main typography used in this series is a custom alteration of V-Dub to evoke a sense of movement and to compliment the curved nature of my wireframes. I contrasted this effect with more structured type forms (Van Berger and Induction) through the sub-titling and numeral system respectively.
The aesthetic pulls from the futuristic visual identity of the game and the music that evokes it. Core to the theme of this project was a series of wireframe models I developed which were designed to exaggerate the form of sound speakers. I created the speaker models in Adobe Illustrator by generating an ellipse and evolving it through 3D filters.
