Spot The Broads

The brief To find a creative solution to an aspect of the Water, Mills & Marshes project with The Norfolk Broads Authority. I chose to build a body of creative work that meets the project aims of: reconnecting local people with their landscape and its natural and cultural heritage and inspiring active participation through cultural and learning activities. The solution ‘Spot The Broads’ is an illustrative, interactive and educational plant and animal identification booklet, which aims to encourage people to explore The Broads. Users can take this booklet to different locations on The Broads to learn about and engage with the environment around them. The one sheet book fold causes the booklet to open like a map and reflects its purpose of spotting things, thus creating an interesting and fun reader experience. The booklet can also be used on the project’s educational programmes with schools and walking groups to enable greater interaction by a wider audience.
