Spotlighting Artists

  • Raegan Rubin

I've greatly enjoyed spotlighting inspiring artists and activists while producing editorial content for Pantheon Art. Some of my favourite features explore the oeuvres of Feminist Surrealist Penny Slinger, and Black activists Zanele Muholi, Simone Leigh and Mickalene Thomas.

Art + Activism

I've also covered LGBTQIA+ art activists and pioneers like Ahmed Mater, whose contemporary works reckon with Saudi Arabia's rapidly changing social and cultural landscapes. Zanele Muholi, for instance, has been one of the most inspiring artists I’ve covered this year. From writing an article ahead of her Tate exhibition to attending the press preview, I have been blown away by her LGBTQIA+ solidarity, powerful photography, and activism against rape and racially-motivated violence.
