STANCE is a skating apparel company who started by producing socks in 2009, but recently began making t-shirts, bags and notably, underwear. They featured in a breif on You Can Now this year to promote this new line of underwear with some simple digital ads. I like the company, picked up the brief; and wound up producing animated adverts, specifically for use on instagram.
The brief provided the fonts that STANCE use, and their logo; a style guide of what to aim for; and a pdf showing their latest range of styles. Of course, they could not include any actual underwear to use, but I did wonder about photographs or textures to include for mockups – but STANCE are a heavily creative company, and rely a lot on imaginative, inventive ways of promoting their products, so I assumed this was intentional. I started off by drawing (doodling) the pants over the top of images I found, and decided that it would be great to breathe life into them by animating the doodles. After a couple photoshoots and hours of doodling, these are the final results.
Due to having coronavirus, I never managed to upload these to YCN before the deadline, so STANCE most likely have missed out on seeing them. (If anyone works for them let me know!)
