Statom Group

In early 2020, Gears Group was taken under new management, and with a less than stellar reputation, a new name and style was needed, after struggling with other design agencies, they came to me looking for a different approach. Too many options made them seem like a housebuilder, rather than a construction business so that was the first step to put right.

The name of Statom came from the two new owners of Stan & Tommy who wanted to put a personal stamp on the new business venture. To reflect their industry I designed something heavy and blocky, with thick lines and sharp corners and the client loved it in comparison to some of the more ‘flourished’ looks they’d seen already.
A key consideration for the brand was that it could easily be reduced and sized up depending on the space it was used, and legibility. When in full it can showcase all of the main services Statom Group can offer, but it can also be reduced so when on top of a crane it can still be read clearly and from a long distance.
The goal of the rebrand was that it will all go live at once, and as such designs have been made and put straight into production for all physical items found on site, from cabins and machinery through to hard hats and hi-vis clothing.
Once everything is in position to go the switch over will be instant. With the website going online and newly branded vehicles going out to site all on the same day. So you might see them on a construction site near you very soon.
As part of this brand overhaul, a new website was needed as well. Currently, in development, the site will focus on the beautiful photography from the building sites as well as hammering home the different areas of expertise they have, and the types of projects they work on. Design-wise it carries through the use of thick lines and a blocky style the lines at top and down the side lead the user down the page as the logo travels within it.
On top of the usual items, I also needed to produce multiple different brochures and briefing documents from internal handbooks to external tender documents, keeping the design simple and clear and making the most of the photography. Once the brand launches and the Statom sites see the new brand take over it will be very exciting, and images shall be updated once this happens.
