Stories of the Market - W12

Stories of the Market - W12 is an oral history zine featuring the voices of traders in Shepherds Bush Market. The project took place in 2016, at the time, the Shepherds Bush Market Tenants Association were in a battle with developers, Orion on turning aspects of the market into luxury flats and the threats of rising existing tenants leases. The project was co-curated, edited and made by Zain Dada, Sana Badri, Bushra Ferjani and designed by Rose Nordin. Stories of The Market - W12 was then launched at Bush Hall in September 2016 in collaboration Back The City. The event featured speeches by Shepherd’s Bush Market traders, local MP, Andy Slaughter and performances by Westway23 (Niles Hailstones), TakeLatirwith , Patch, 4i, Grime MC, Big Zuu and was hosted by Zahra Dalilah.
