Student Radio Association Rebrand

We’ve been helping to spread the word of student radio for many years now, so when the opportunity to rebrand the UK’s biggest student media network came up, we jumped at the chance to help the Student Radio Association continue to shout about its members in a new, modern guise. The branding package we devised includes new logos and key visuals for the association itself and its two major sub-brands, the Student Radio Awards Supported by BBC Radio 1 and Global and the National Student Radio Conference. Both events are amongst the biggest in the radio industry and have been responsible for launching the careers of some of the media industry’s brightest stars.

Press Play On The Future of Radio

Therefore, our new branding had to emphasise the association’s ambitious approach to its members. The new ‘Play Icon’ which forms the backbone of the whole branding scheme is both forward facing, dynamic and represents the new brand position we created; Press Play On The Future of Radio. The play icon forms the main visual identity for the brand as a whole and is used in a number of creative ways to assist with user retention. There’s no mistaking this brand for something else!

Project Highlights

The new logos were incorporated into a suite of key visuals, for future officers of the organisation to apply easily onto everything marketing material, to uniforms and certificates. The rebranding project also included the design and manufacture of a bespoke perspex trophy for the Student Radio Awards in association with EFX, alongside a comprehensive suite of business stationery, full brand bible and digital graphics.
Finally, a complete overhaul of the association’s website and other online outlets and the hugely popular newsletter ensured that this new era of student radio could continue to launch the careers of future radio stars to come.
