A sprawling sci-fi music video for alternative rock band 'Haunt the Woods.' We find ourselves following a mysterious protagonist in space as she attempts to uncover answers and find what she has lost. An all-encompassing, wonderfully challenging project that utilised my resourcefulness and pushed my lighting concepts. Shot across Cornwall, utilising favours from colleagues and friends, I gained exclusive access to a decommissioned jet at Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre in order to shoot the interior sci-fi cockpit scenes. My inspirations were drawn from Ad Astra, 2001: A Space Odyssey, First Man and a narrative homage to Interstellar. Achieving the look of Supernova involved meticulous planning and weather watching, arranging the shoot in order to make the most of natural light. A generator and a bank of Moleflays on truss were brought in to light the interior cockpit scene, and low-budget production design and art direction was utilised to optimise the look of the astronaut outfit - nearly all of which was assembled from a army surplus store. Shot on the Panasonic EVA-1 and GH5.
