SURGE, East Wing Exhibition, Somerset House

  • Nia Thomas

The East Wing Biennial is a contemporary art exhibition held within the east wing of the university buildings, curated and organised entirely by the students of The Courtauld. Since its inception in 1991, established icons of the British Art scene including Gilbert and George, Howard Hodgkin and Damien Hirst have taken part. I was involved in the 13th Biennial, titled SURGE the exhibition focused on emerging talent from the London art scene. In my capacity as Head of Marketing and Events I produced graphics (online and print), organised round-table discussions and oversaw public outreach programmes.

The poster I designed for the exhibition on display outside Somerset House.
