Surrealist Flora

This editorial is inspired by illustrations by Salvador Dali with floral arrangements, this editorial explores the beauty in surrealist art. This series is high fashion and avant garde.There is a juxtaposition to the large floral pieces with the surrealism, Inspired by couture from early 2000’s such as Roberto Cavalli. We have used striking models that elevate the looks with extravagant hair and makeup that contrast the flower aesthetic. The set is dreamy and otherworldly creating this surrealist feel. The creative director, photographer and stylist are all working class/ lower class individuals who have came together to make this piece of art. We used independent designers, underrepresented models and working class artists to make this happen. The entire team is also female/ female representing. This submission had absolutely no budget due to us being working class so we have pulled everything together by collaboration with amazing artists, finding things for free, using a living space to shoot this. This entire shoot represents the hard work of artists, trying to create something amazing, even with no budget.
