The project aims to raise awareness of endangered animals through informing audiences of deforestation stemming from the large usage of palm oil (e.g. lipstick, shampoo, chocolate). As a result of this deforestation, various animals including the Sumatran Tiger, Sumatran Rhino, Orangutan and Asian Elephant have seen their natural habitat erode and food sources dwindle. The sculptures’ concept is to draw attention to daily products’ ingredients, inducing people to alter their consumption habits. The sculptures were crafted and casted using the same materials that make up lip balm and lipstick sans palm oil.
